  2022-03-31

Recently, the spectrin cytoskeleton, a deformable actin-associated network, has been identified as a modulator of Yki function, potentially acting both apically and basally in different cell types [75•, 76•, 77•]. Several mechanisms have been proposed, including regulation via Crb/Ex tethering [], t

Molecular mechanisms underpinning GSNOR1 function in the defence response Recently, Arabidopsis GSNOR1 has been shown to govern the extent of S-nitrosylation of two key regulatory proteins, Non-Expresser of Pathogenesis-Related Genes 1 (NPR1) and SA binding protein 3 (SABP3), which are integral t

  2022-03-31

Among the symbiotic bacteria contained in the probiotics, lactic-acid-producing bacteria (LAB) have been suggested to confer broad spectrums of health benefits, such as activation of mucosal and systemic immunity and resistance to infectious illnesses (Schiffrin et al., 1995, Wells and Mercenier, 20

The HRTOF-MS of showed a quasi-molecular ion peak at / 525.3044 [M+Na], corresponding to a quasi-molecular formula of CHNONa (Calcd for CHNONa: 525.3053). IR absorptions at 1680 and 1522cm suggested the presence of amide functions. Based on an analysis of 1D and 2D NMR spectra, the presence of one p

  2022-03-31

In summary, activated A2AR exacerbated the reverse transport function of endothelial EAATs through a direct or indirect pathway depending on PKA and glutamate levels in response to OGD in vitro, but A2AR inhibition quickly restored the normal transport function. Moreover, the key mechanisms by which

  2022-03-30

In single channel studies, Zn2+ primarily inhibits GABA-A receptors through the reduction of channel opening probability (Smart, 1992, Smart et al., 1994). In slice recordings, Zn2+ significantly reduces phasic mIPSC event amplitude and kinetics, as well as desensitization kinetics (Barberis et al.,

  2022-03-30

One effective approach to fine-tuning the lipophilicity profile of FFA1 agonists is to ‘decorate’ the 3-phenylpropahoic Timolol Maleate scaffold with polar heterocyclic moieties. Alternatively, this scaffold could be replaced with heterocyclic isosteres (as in Takeda’s compounds 1,2 and 3 as well a

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the leading cause of cancer deaths in Taiwan and is also a most common cancer in the world (Huang et al., 2012, Jemal et al., 2011). With early detection and treatment in the initial stage, CRC can be recognized as curable in comparison with other malignant tumors (Levin e

  2022-03-30

Interestingly, evidence has emerged recently that suggests noncanonical roles of EZH2 in various cancers. For example, in addition to histone H3, EZH2 has been shown to methylate non-histone substrates, such as Jarid2 and STAT3, to regulate their transcriptional activities (He et al., 2012, Sanulli
